Is Botox safe?
Botox is FDA-approved. It is the only approved treatment that can temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults.

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox treatments?
There are very few restrictions regarding injectable botulinum toxin. Patients who are pregnant or who have certain neurological conditions should not be treated. If you are healthy and have no underlying health problems, you should be a good candidate. Dr. Lies will help you learn more during your consultation.
Keep in mind that a Botox injection does not reduce wrinkles caused by sun damage and skin laxity, because these types of wrinkles are not caused by muscle contractions. Botox injections cannot significantly reduce sagging skin or replace brow lift, facelift, and other types of surgical interventions.

How is the Botox Treatment Performed?
Treatment involves several injections of Botox into the target areas. Commonly treated areas include frown lines and crow’s feet. The procedure takes about 15 minutes. Most patients can return to work soon after their treatment, as any redness/swelling at the injection site subsides rapidly. Avoid exercise for four hours after a Botox treatment as this can encourage bruising to develop.

Does the injection hurt?
Dr. Lies will inject the Botox using a very fine needle. There may be some momentary discomfort, but very little pain.
If you are concerned about possible pain related to the injections, we can apply ice packs to your skin to numb the area temporarily.

What Should I Know About My Botox Results?
The results from your Botox treatment will be obvious by about a week after your treatment. The effect lasts 3-4 months before it slowly wears off. Treatments for excessive sweating may take up to two weeks before results become obvious. This effect usually lasts about 8 months.

Will I still be able to smile and make facial expressions after Botox?
